Ray Nylen

Chief Executive Officer

Ray began his teaching career in 1972. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from University of the Pacific in 1972 and his Elementary Credential in 1973. He worked as a teacher and later as a Program Specialist at Stockton Developmental Center (SDC). During this time, he continued his education receiving his Severely Handicapped Credential in 1979 and his Learning Handicapped Credential in 1980.

After eight years of service at SDC, Ray co-founded Central Valley Training Center, Inc. (CVTC) in May of 1982. From 1982 to 1992 he served as the Program Director for the Stockton Behavior Management Program and later as the Program Director of the Fresno Behavior Management Program. Beginning in 1992, he has worked in Administrative Services as the Operations Director, Finance Director, and later as the Administrative Director. In 1994 he became the President and sole owner of CVTC.

 

Sonya Fox Watson

Executive Director of Operations

Sonya Fox-Watson joined Central Valley Training Center, Inc. (CVTC) in 2001. Ms. Fox-Watson was the Program Director of the CARES, Another Way and Stockton Day Programs before transferring to administrative services in 2007. Ms. Fox-Watson is currently Executive Director of Operations.

Ms. Fox-Watson holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Business Administration.

 

Sherry Gonzales

Controller

Sherry began working for Central Valley Training Center, Inc. (CVTC) in 1997 in the Administrative office. She worked for Ramada Inn and restaurant in Merced, California for six years performing accounting functions. Sherry left CVTC in February 2006 for 15 months to pursue a position as Staff Accountant in a different field. Sherry returned to CVTC in May 2007 as Accounting Supervisor. In July 2009, Sherry accepted the position of Controller and became a member of the Executive Team.

Sherry enjoys spending time with her family and dogs.

 

Joann Jordan

, Human Resources Director

Joann joined Central Valley Training Center, Inc. (CVTC) in 1995. Joann’s career path first began as an Instructor, teaching valuable life-skills to individuals with intellectual disabilities. In 1998, Joann accepted the position of Administrative Office Assistant, while continuing with her education. In 2002, Joann accepted the position of Human Resources Coordinator. In September 2010, Joann was offered the position of Human Resources Director.

Regional Director of Operations

Shelly Schmidt joined Central Valley Training Center, (CVTC) in April 2014. Shelly completed her Bachelor's in Psychology from Alliant International University in 2008 and returned to school in March of 2014 to complete her Masters in Human Behavior. Shelly has management experience working in various social service settings, most recently as the Client Care Coordinator for an adult day program. Shelly is passionate about the consumers she serves and looks forward to empowering CVTC consumers to be all that they can be!

In her free time, Shelly enjoys playing sports and spending time with her family.

Tamica Hill

Regional Director of Operations

Tamica received her Bachelors of Arts Degree from California State University, Fresno. In 2006 Tamica joined CVTC as an Instructor I at the Fresno West location. In 2007 she was employed by a large social service company where she held responsibilities first as intake coordinator. Tamica received promotions to Program Manager, Program Supervisor, and ultimately Area Director in 2012. As an Area Director, she was responsible for the over site of Adult Day Program, Family Home Agency and Intermediate Care Facilities. In September 2013, Tamica returned to CVTC, as Program Director for Merced Day and Another Way ILS program. Tamica brings a wealth of experience and passion for supporting clients, families and staff in the Central Valley. In December 2013, Tamica was promoted to Regional Director of Operations. 

In her spare time Tamica enjoys volunteering at animals shelters, reading, writing poetry and spending time with her family.

Regional Director of Operations

Douglas McDonald began working for Central Valley Training Center Inc. (CVTC) in April 2014 as Regional Director of Operations in Stockton. Douglas received his Bachelors of Education / Special Education Degree from University of Alaska. Prior to returning to the education field Douglas worked for MCI/Verizon's disability division for 13 years as a Senior Operations Director. Douglas returned to Loyola Marymount University to pursue a Master's Degree in Special Education. Douglas spent the last 20 years leading teams that specialized in delivering outstanding customer service and assisting his customer base to achieve their maximum potential. 

In his spare time Douglas loves to attend events supporting his fellow veterans, volunteering and spending quality time with his family.
