CVTC’s Commitment to Quality and Best Practice

CVTC’s ultimate goal is to assist individuals with developmental disabilities in replacing challenging behaviors with more appropriate, socially acceptable behaviors. It is our philosophy to utilize non-aversive behavior management skills and techniques consistent with the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis coupled with training and curriculum that enhances a person’s coping and life skills.

Our immediate objective is to provide individuals with a safe learning environment that ensures structure and consistency while tailoring training to the individual’s needs.

We are dedicated to providing quality services. Quality services are those that result in individuals discovering their potential, expanding their skills, and promoting their individuality with the end result being individuals leading successful and fulfilling lives in within their communities. CVTC does this while adhering to best practices in case management, staff training, systemic and consistent communication, and being conscious of overall safety of the people we serve.

Our Day Programs are located throughout the Central Valley of California which includes locations in Stockton, Modesto, Merced, two in Fresno, and Visalia. Within the design of each program is a “walls-free,” community-based component by which services and training are provided solely in the community. This offers the opportunity for individuals in both the cities where our physical programs are located as well as outlying rural areas to receive needed services.

Central Valley Training Center incorporates various curriculum and materials such as Social Effectiveness Training (SET), a Team Teaching approach, and Structured Teaching. Our training curricula are designed to promote individuals’ abilities to demonstrate appropriate situational, social, and community behaviors that will lead to successful integration into their communities, work places, and/or settings of choice. Training and instruction are provided in the least restrictive environment possible to promote real-life experiences and opportunities to practice newly acquired skills. Individuals learn how to utilize communication skills, problem-solving skills, and coping techniques in social and vocational settings. The primary service components of our day program services include:

  • Self-Advocacy
  • Community Integration
  • Employment Training

CVTC strongly promotes the rights of individuals with disabilities and their ability to advocate for themselves. Thus, services are always driven by the individual being served and/or her/his authorized representative (s).
