CVTC's Commitment to Quality and Best Practice

Our ultimate goal is to assist individuals with developmental disabilities in replacing challenging behaviors with more appropriate, socially acceptable behaviors. It is our philosophy to utilize non-aversive behavior management.

Our immediate goal is to provide individuals with a safe learning environment that ensures structure and consistency that is tailored to their individual needs.

We are dedicated to providing quality services. Quality services are those that result in individuals discovering their potential, expanding their skills, and promoting their individuality while utilizing best practices through extensive staff training, systemic communication, and being conscious of overall safety for the people we serve.

Our Day Programs are located throughout the Central Valley and include Stockton, Modesto, Merced and Fresno CVTC opened a new, state-of-the-art facility in Visalia in the spring of 2007 and is constructing a second facility within the Fresno area which is set to open in early 2008.

Central Valley Training Center offers a unique opportunity to provide both facility-based and community-based training. Our service components encompass:

  • Social Effectiveness Training (SET)
  • Team Teaching
  • Structured Teaching
  • Self Advocacy
  • Community Integration
  • Employment Training

Our training curricula are designed to promote an individuals ability to demonstrate appropriate situational, social, and community behaviors that will lead to successful integration into the community, work place, and/or other less restrictive service settings.  Individuals will learn how to utilize communication skills, problem solving skills and coping techniques in social and work settings.  Services will be driven by the individual, and/or authorized representative(s).
