Fresno City College Classes
CVTC participants enroll regularly in Fresno City College courses such as Horticulture/Greenhouse, Group Interaction, Computer Literacy, Reading classes and more. Individuals taking these courses gain knowledge and skills necessary to gain meaningful employment, increase independence, or achieve their potential.

Employment Opportunities and Volunteer Work

 

CVTC provides support to individuals who are directly hired with Home Depot and employs individuals with flyer contracts. All individuals participating in direct-hire and contract employment are paid minimum wage or greater.

Adopt a Park- Quigley Park and Logan Park-Fresno West site and community based consumers have committed to giving back to the community in the Adopt a Park program. This program involves beautification of local parks with the City of Fresno. Site based consumers adopted Logan Park and community based consumers adopted Quigley Park.

Day Program and Community-Based Services

Referral and Intake Process
  • The referring agency will make a preliminary referral based on Central Valley Training Center’s program services and the individual’s needs.

  • Required information/paperwork will be requested by CVTC from the referring agency.

  • The individual and parent/authorized representative(s) may take a tour of the program and request further information about CVTC.

  • The individual may choose to participate in a “guest” day to help determine if the program will meet her/his needs.

  • Upon the individual’s selection to attend CVTC through individual choice and/or consultation with her/his support group or interdisciplinary team, the referring agency will contact CVTC to schedule an intake meeting.

  • CVTC will conduct an intake meeting at which time necessary referral source documentation will be reviewed for completeness and CVTC intake forms will be completed.

  • A start date will be determined.

The individual will start down a road towards success.

 

Richard Bodily
Program Director

Richard received his Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Cultural Diversity from Fresno Pacific University. He has completed all required coursework toward his Master of Arts degree in Leadership and Organizational Development and is working toward completing his Master Thesis. He is currently participating in an internship program to receive his teaching credentials in Special Education Moderate/Severe. Before becoming a part of the CVTC team in November 2007 as the Program Director of Fresno West, Richard worked with the Geriatric Psychiatric population providing quality of life services as a Social Services Director. His interests include his family, outdoors, and writing. His passion is to help others excel beyond their personal barriers and achieve that which they thought was unreachable.
