Jerry Poole

Sacramento BMP & ETP Program

Biography

Jerry joined Central Valley Training Center (CVTC) in September 2014 as an Instructor Floater at the Stockton West facility. Jerry utilized his time as an Instructor Floater to learn and develop his skills in behavior management and leadership and promoted to an Instructor IV (Team Lead) in November 2014. Jerry continued to learn and embrace the culture that CVTC had to offer and started an Interim Program Coordinator position in June 2015. Jerry continued to grow his leadership skills and customer service skills and promoted to a Program Coordinator in November 2015. As a Program Coordinator, Jerry focused on providing quality training, resources and customer satisfaction to consumers, staff, consumer family, care providers and the regional center. In March 2020, Jerry was offered the Interim Program Director position for the CVTC Sacramento facility.

Prior to working for CVTC, Jerry developed a passion for helping individuals learn and succeed while working with youth in the care home setting in the early 2000’s. Jerry took what he learned from his time in the group home and brought that with him when he joined CVTC. While working directly with CVTC consumers, Jerry realized that teaching and promoting growth, in not only the consumers, but his peers was his calling. Jerry’s passion to make a difference in others’ lives continues to be his motivation.

In his free time, Jerry enjoys spending time with friends and family, barbequing and gaming on his computer or gaming system.
