Day Program and Community-Based Services

Referral and Intake Process
  • The referring agency will make a preliminary referral based on Central Valley Training Center’s program services and the individual’s needs.

  • Required information/paperwork will be requested by CVTC from the referring agency.

  • The individual and parent/authorized representative(s) may take a tour of the program and request further information about CVTC.

  • The individual may choose to participate in a “guest” day to help determine if the program will meet her/his needs.

  • Upon the individual’s selection to attend CVTC through individual choice and/or consultation with her/his support group or interdisciplinary team, the referring agency will contact CVTC to schedule an intake meeting.

  • CVTC will conduct an intake meeting at which time necessary referral source documentation will be reviewed for completeness and CVTC intake forms will be completed.

  • A start date will be determined.

The individual will start down a road towards success.

Activities

Kevin Alfaro, Program Director
Kelvin Alfaro joined Central Valley Training Center Inc. in November 2011. Prior to joining the CVTC Team, Kelvin served the Central Valley's nonprofit and philanthropic sector via the Fresno Regional Foundation, where he worked on numerous projects that benefit the community. Kelvin has his Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology from California State University, Fresno. Kelvin also holds a Certified Nonprofit Professional title from the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance, a nationally recognized organization that prepares skilled professionals and leaders to serve in America's nonprofit organizations.

Kelvin holds Family, Education, Community, and Work as central pillars to his approach to life. As such, Kelvin is actively engaged in community projects with location Nonprofit Agencies including the Humanics Program at Fresno State, Fresno Barrios Unidos, PIQE, and Nationally with the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance. Kelvin is currently completing his Masters of Business Administration at California State University, Fresno.

As a member of CVTC's management team, Kelvin works in tandem with staff, community partners, government agencies, and educational institutions to ensure enriching quality service for consumers in accordance to CVTC's standards of service.

In his spare time, Kelvin enjoys reading, drawing, and volunteering in the community.
